Cole Palmer netted four times as Chelsea maintained their strong start to the season with a 4-2 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton initially took the lead through Georginio Rutter, who headed home after a defensive lapse from Chelsea.

Palmer responded in the 21st minute, slotting a shot past the near post to equalize, then calmly converted a penalty seven minutes later to put Chelsea ahead. The forward made it 3-1 in the 31st minute, but Brighton's Carlos Baleba quickly narrowed the gap.

Palmer added two more goals before halftime, capping his performance with a stunning free-kick for his fourth.
